Taekwondo not only teaches a martial art but also instills discipline, enhances self-esteem, builds confidence, and strengthens the mind and body. Lion’s Taekwondo focuses on the traditional and sports aspects of Taekwondo. Master Edward incorporates traditional aspects alongside the everchanging Olympic Sport of Taekwondo to train the best athletes and has students with medals from multiple countries at multiple international high-caliber events such as the World Championships.

Have you ever wanted to make your own websites and apps? In this hands-on coding and tech club, you’ll learn the skills of a coder and the mindset of an entrepreneur through building apps – your own app and also an app for local nonprofits. You’ll build apps and games weekly in the course and work on real web apps. Previous students have been covered in multiple local news outlets for apps they’ve built for homeless shelters, veterinarians, and local climate nonprofits!

The Chess Club strives for every student to develop a lifelong passion, in which they can continually grow and appreciate, as well as to empower each student to use critical thinking and concentration throughout their daily lives. Classes emphasize building a strong foundation of basic chess knowledge and are perfect for anyone willing to learn the game and develop a unique passion. Topics include tactics training, understanding how to analyze, learning proper endgame techniques, assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and more. Edu-Chess, established over twelve years, is an after-school program teaching chess in a scholastic and fun environment. Chess programs at Edu-Chess are designed to foster intellectual and emotional growth in children. Roger Weerasinghe, Director of Edu-Chess, requires all teachers to be certified Edu-Chess instructors. All instructors are held to high standards, and many of them have been teaching chess for over five years, making Edu-Chess the leader in chess instruction for children in the Los Angeles area.

At SoCal Karate Kids, our goal is to create a community of healthy and joyful martial artists who are empowered to advocate for themselves, confident in their place of belonging, committed to the defense of their health, joyful in their practice of discipline, and certain with their ability to defend themselves. Master Crittenden’s accessible teaching style makes Tang Soo Do available to everyone, regardless of skill level. At the end of the day, we want our students to want to train. There’s nothing worse than spending money and time on an activity, only to fight them to get in the car. We hope to help with that by making every class an enjoyable and memorable experience.

When the past fuses with the future… In this unique program, developed by Stem&More’s team of experts, kids will enter the fascinating Jurassic world while building challenging robot models of dinosaurs. Building these one-of-a-kind Dino-robots will introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics. As kids use transmission gears and other electronic tools, they will develop thinking strategies, motor skills and dedication. Students will also have the chance to experiment in archeological digs, in which they will study fossils of a variety of dinosaurs. Join us in an amusing and engaging journey into the past and the future! *Kids will take home every model built throughout the course!
After-school Activities / Class Fees
Regular weekly sessions are $440.00 for the semester inclusive of SchoolCash Online (SCO) fees. Private 30-minute weekly piano and guitar lessons are $1000.00 for the 14-16 week semester.
*Please note: Registration for private lessons will open on Friday, January 12 at 7:00pm via SchoolCash Online (SCO) on a first come first serve basis. A minimum of two lessons per slot is required to be confirmed by the vendor.
Registration
Registration is available through SchoolCash Online (SCO). Families who are new to LILA should email their campus business manager in advance to request their student number in order to activate their SCO accounts.
If you would like to be put on a payment plan, you must select the option when registering for a class (this will not be an available option once registered—nor can the school add it to your SCO account). Payment installments must be taken on the first of each month. If you are a LILA employee, please contact the After-school Activities and Vacation Camps Manager at afterschool-activities@lilaschool.com. After Friday, February 16 there will be no refunds/credits for withdrawals, class switches, and discounted/prorated fees for late joiners. Please keep in mind that if payment is not received/collected by the deadline students may not participate in the class and run the risk of not being able to register for any upcoming Break Camps and/or 2024 Fall After-school Activities.
Payments and Refunds
Payment information will be collected during registration. During the first two weeks of the program, students may withdraw or switch from any activity without any penalty.
Late Enrollment
Any late enrollment is subject to the full registration fee for the semester and is not prorated for missed classes. Late enrollment will have the opportunity to select a payment plan. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the After-school Activities and Vacation Camps Manager at afterschool-activities@lilaschool.com.
Makeup Classes
The week of Monday, June 3–Friday, June 7 will be reserved for makeup classes. These classes will take place only in the event an entire class is canceled for the day and are not meant to compensate for individual absences. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the After-school Activities and Vacation Camps Manager at afterschool-activities@lilaschool.com.

If a class has reached the maximum number of students, parents have the option of adding their child (ren) to the class waiting list via SCO (You must pay to be added to the waitlist). If you would like to switch or drop a class you must fill out this form.

We believe that all students should learn at their own pace and our experienced, trained musical teachers, help your aspiring musician learn without struggling with the structures of traditional techniques. Students of all ages and abilities are welcomed, starting as young as kindergarten. We believe that music should be explored and enjoyed by EVERYONE! Lessons are priced at $1,000.00 for the semester.
