Fiber Arts

In this creative class, students will explore the artistic world of fiber, yarn, and fabric, crafting both traditional and innovative pieces of clothing and art. They’ll dive into sewing, knitting, weaving, crocheting, and fiber-painting, developing hands-on skills to create functional, wearable, and decorative art. Each student will also learn how to use a sewing machine. This class is perfect for students of all genders who want to unleash their creativity, especially through upcycling and repurposing materials, while gaining a deeper understanding of how things are made. They’ll discover the difference between woven and knit fabrics, explore the origins of various fibers from plants and animals, and learn why certain materials are chosen for specific uses.
Young Pottery Makers

In this pottery class, students will explore the art of handbuilding pottery, learning a variety of techniques to create both functional and decorative pieces. From crafting bowls and cups to designing unique sculptures and artistic objects, participants will gain hands-on experience in shaping and molding clay. The class encourages creativity and self-expression, providing an opportunity for each student to follow their own artistic vision while engaging in a therapeutic and enjoyable activity. Students will also learn about glazing techniques, with all clay and glazes used being food-safe, ensuring that their creations can be both beautiful and practical. Whether working on personal projects or guided exercises, this class offers a fun and enriching way to develop pottery skills while exploring the endless possibilities of clay.
After Wednesday, February 12 there will be no refunds/credits for withdrawals, class switches, and discounted/prorated fees for late joiners. Please keep in mind that if payment is not received/collected by the deadline students may not participate in the class and run the risk of not being able to register for any upcoming Break Camps and/or 2025 After-school Activities.
